Job Description
Fuse HVAC & Appliance Repair is hiring an experienced Refrigeration & HVAC Service Technician to serve residential and commercial customers throughout Monterey County.
The main focus of this role is repairing residential and commercial refrigeration equipment, along with HVAC service and repairs. Occasional HVAC installations are also part of the job.
We have a steady flow of refrigeration, HVAC repair, maintenance, and installation leads, with up to 6 jobs per day, 5–6 days per week.
Responsibilities
• Diagnose and repair residential refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, and wine coolers.
• Service and repair commercial refrigeration equipment, including reach-in and walk-in coolers and freezers, prep tables, display cases, and commercial ice machines.
• Perform sealed-system repairs: refrigerant recovery, leak detection, brazing, evacuation, charging, filter-drier replacement, and compressor replacement.
• Troubleshoot and repair air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, ductless mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment.
• Assist with or complete HVAC installations as needed.
• Explain repair recommendations clearly to customers and document all completed work.
Requirements
• Proven experience repairing residential and commercial refrigeration equipment.
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration diagnostics, including cooling, airflow, electrical, defrost, compressor, and control-system issues.
• Sealed-system repair experience is required.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC troubleshooting and repair. Installation experience is a plus.
• EPA Section 608 certification required (Universal preferred).
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, professional appearance, and strong customer-service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage a daily schedule, and complete job documentation.
